Album: House: Copper repiping (MasterServ)

UPDATE: Masterserv came out to the house several times this summer. They've sprayed the basement with bleach to prevent mold, and have re-patched in the basement stairwell and several spots outside. This patcher was much better! The original outside patching job did not impress the Masterserv supervisor who came out last month, nor the second patcher. The repatched stucco is now un-noticeable. I contracted with MasterServ to re-pipe the house with copper. When they turned the water back on, they had forgotten to solder a joint, spraying water into my upstairs wall. It soaked all the way down to the basement, and dripped like rain out of my wooden dining room ceiling. Two days later, I went in the basement to knock on the furnace, and found 1/2" of water on the floor. It turns out they left the drain hose from the washing machine in a hole in the wall, where it should never have been, even temporarily, in my opinion (my dad taught me not to point a gun, even unloaded, at anything you don't intend to shoot). Running a (luckily small) load of laundry filled the bathroom/garage wall full of water, which proceeded to find its way to the garage floor and the basement.
